WHAT: House fire.
WHEN: June 14, 2024, at 1:17 p.m.
WHERE: 1200 block of Niagara St. 77051.
INJURIES: One civilian treated on scene.
PROPERTY SAVED: $175,000 in estimated property saved.
DAMAGE: $15,000 in estimated damage.
CAUSE: Unintentional (mechanical failure, malfunction, other).
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene to find smoke coming from a 1-story house and made an offensive attack. The utilities were secured, and a primary search was completed. One person was assisted outside of the home and treated on scene by HFD EMS. The fire originated from a window AC unit and was quickly extinguished. 49 personnel responded to this incident, including crews from Stations 24, 16, 23, 26, 46, 25, 33, 35 and 55.
