WHAT: House fire.
WHEN: January 10, 2024, at 1:14 a.m.
WHERE: 10400 block of Dulcimer St. 77051.
INJURIES: No reported injuries.
PROPERTY SAVED: Not available.
DAMAGE: $150,000 in estimated damage.
CAUSE: HFD Arson investigators ruled the cause as accidental (space heater placed to close to bed).
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene within two minutes to find fire coming from a 1-story house and made an offensive attack. They conducted a primary search and ventilated the home. The crews extinguished the fire and requested Arson investigators to determine the cause and origin. CenterPoint arrived on scene and secured the gas and electric. The American Red Cross was notified to assist the residents. 34 personnel responded to this incident, including firefighters from Stations 23, 21, 46, 47, 55, 24, 33 and Rehab 17.
