WHAT: House fire.
WHEN: October 18, 2023, at 10:41 p.m.

INJURIES: One civilian transported to the hospital.

CAUSE: Misuse of material or product, other
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene within four minutes to find heavy smoke coming from a 1-story house with a report of someone still inside. The occupant had safely made it out of the home and crews treated and transported them to the hospital. They made an offensive attack and ventilated the home. A primary search was completed to ensure there were no other residents inside and the utilities were controlled. The fire was extinguished and contained to one room and the attic. The resident stated they had been smoking in bed and woke up by the smoke. The American Red Cross was requested to assist. 33 personnel were dispatched to this incident, including firefighters from Stations 46, 23, 21, 35, 55 and 24.
