WHAT: House fire.
WHEN: August 2, 2023, at 6:02 a.m.
WHERE: 10700 block of Buffum St. 77051.
INJURIES: No reported injuries.

DAMAGE: $50,000 in estimated damage.
CAUSE: Under investigation.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene within a minute to find heavy fire coming from the corner of a house that had caught fire the night before. They made an attack on the fire and controlled the seat of the fire while extinguishing the fire that had spread into the attic. A primary search was completed with no one found. The entire house was soaked down and checked for hidden hotspots with a thermal camera. No hidden fire was found, and the owner was advised the power had been disconnected by CenterPoint and the other utilities should remain off. HFD Arson investigators were requested to determine the cause and origin. 34 personnel were dispatched to this incident, including firefighters from Stations 23, 21, 46, 47, 55 and 24.
