WHAT: House fire.
WHEN: April 6, 2023 at 10:10 p.m.
WHERE: 10100 block of Knoboak Dr. 77080.
INJURIES: No reported injuries.
PROPERTY SAVED: $400,000 in estimated property saved.
DAMAGE: $100,000 in estimated damage.
CAUSE: Act of nature (lightning).
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene within four minutes to find smoke coming from the side of a house. They made entry and quickly extinguished a fire in the garage and attic. The fire appeared to have been caused by a lightning strike that caused a surge to the wring in the garage. A vehicle was also damaged. The residents were advised to have an electrician inspect the home turning the power back on. Crews from Stations 5, 50, 77 and 60 responded to this incident.
