WHAT: House fire.
WHEN: Today, April 22, 2024, at 8:27 a.m.
WHERE: 2300 block of Haldane Dr. 77055.
INJURIES: One deceased dog.
PROPERTY SAVED: $265,000 in estimated property saved.
DAMAGE: $35,000 in estimated damage.
CAUSE: Under investigation (appears to be accidental).
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene within four minutes to find light smoke coming from a 1-story house. They made an offensive attack and conducted a primary search. The roof was ventilated and upon a secondary search an unresponsive dog was found. They attempted to revive the pet with oxygen, however it did not survive. Crews extinguished the fire and requested HFD Arson investigators to determine the cause. 32 personnel responded to this incident, including firefighters from Stations 2, 4, 5, 13, 38, 50, 77 and 57.
