CAUSE: Unintentional
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene within four minutes to find light smoke coming from the roof of a 1-story house. They pulled ceiling and found a fire in the attic which they extinguished with pump cans. The crews opened the adjacent room to check for extension and removed insulation and wood to ensure there were no hotspots. It appeared an overheated circuit extending to the insulation in the attic caused the fire. The occupant was advised to have an electrician inspect and fix the problem prior to turning the power back on. Firefighters from stations 35, 26 and 24 responded to this incident.
