WHAT: House fire.
WHEN: June 30, 2023, at 1:20 p.m.
WHERE: 5400 block of Ridgeway Dr. 77033.
INJURIES: Two civilians transported to the hospital with severe injuries, one citizen treated on scene.
PROPERTY SAVED: $131,000 in estimated property saved.
DAMAGE: $75,000 in estimated damage.
CAUSE: Under investigation.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene within two minutes to find heavy smoke coming from a 1-story house with a report of people trapped. They entered the home and quickly rescued one resident as crews began an attack on the fire. A second victim was found and removed through a window. Both victims were transported to the hospital. A third citizen, who was not in the home at the time of the fire, was evaluated on scene by HFD EMS. The fire was extinguished and HFD Arson investigators were requested to determine the cause and origin. 54 personnel responded to this incident, including firefighters from Stations 26, 36, 23, 21, 46, 33, 35, 40, 55, 24, Rescue 42 and Rehab 17.
