WHAT: House Fire.
WHEN: December 6, 2022 at 3:22 a.m.
WHERE: 6100 block of Belcrest St. 77033.
INJURIES: One civilian transported to the hospital as a precaution.
PROPERTY SAVED: $60,000 in estimated property saved.
DAMAGE: $35,000 in estimated damage.
CAUSE: HFD Arson investigators determined the cause was accidental, with the fire originating in the dryer.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene within three minutes with a report of a possible trapped victim in a home on fire. Heavy smoke was showing from the front of the house and the victim was safely outside the home. Family members had helped the trapped resident out through a window prior to HFDs arrival. Crews entered the home and made an attack on the fire. The roof was ventilated, and the fire was extinguished. A primary and secondary search were clear with no one else found. HFD EMS transported the resident to the hospital as a precaution. HFD Arson investigators were requested to determine the cause of the fire. Firefighters from Stations 26, 35, 36, 23, 46, 40, 24, 30 and Rescue 42 responded to this incident.
