WHAT: House Fire
WHEN: June 5, 2022 at 6:32 p.m.
WHERE: 5800 block of Willow Glen, 77033
INJURIES: Two deceased dogs found.
PROPERTY SAVED: Not available.
DAMAGE: $85,000 in estimated damage.
CAUSE: Under investigation.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene within two minutes to find heavy smoke and fire coming from a 1-story house. Everyone was accounted for except two dogs. Crews made an offensive attack and ventilated the home. Burglar bars were removed from the windows and firefighters attempted to conduct a primary search. The fire conditions worsened, and crews exited to re-group at which time fire came through the roof. They switched to a defensive attack and controlled the fire. Once the conditions improved a primary and secondary search were completed and the two missing dogs were found deceased inside the home. The American Red Cross was notified to assist the residents. HFD Arson investigators were requested to determine the cause and origin of the fire. Firefighters from Stations 35, 46, 26, 55, 23, 24 and Rescue 42 responded to this incident.
