WHAT: House fire.
WHEN: February 12, 2023 at 2:27 a.m.
WHERE: 6700 block of Neff St. 77074.
INJURIES: Two deceased dogs, one dog rescued and revived on scene.
PROPERTY SAVED: $365,000 in estimated property saved.
DAMAGE: $35,000 in estimated damage.
CAUSE: Unintentional (electrical).
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene within four minutes to find smoke and fire coming from a house. The homeowner was out, however, there were several pets reported to be still inside the home. Crews made an attack on the fire and conducted a primary search, finding two deceased dogs and one unconscious dog. They removed the pet and using an animal ventilator, it regained consciousness. The house was ventilated, and the fire was extinguished with the cause determined to be electrical due to an outlet catching nearby furniture on fire. Firefighters from Stations 51, 28, 68, 82 and 57 responded to this incident.
