WHAT: House fire.
WHEN: June 15, 2024, at 1:11 a.m.
WHERE: 7900 block of Ritz St. 77028.
INJURIES: No reported injuries.

DAMAGE: $40,000 in estimated damage.
CAUSE: Under investigation.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene to find smoke and fire coming from a house and made a defensive attack. A nearby exposure was also protected. Once the fire was under control, crews conducted a primary search. The utilities were secured, and the fire was extinguished with firefighters ensuring all hot spots were fully out. The home was vacant and suffered from previous fires. HFD Arson investigators were requested to determine the cause and origin. 33 personnel responded to this incident, including crews from Stations 32, 34, 45, 39, 43 and 30.
