WHAT: House fire.
WHEN: July 23, 2023, at 12:02 a.m.
WHERE: 9900 block of Bauman Rd. 77076.
INJURIES: No reported injuries.
PROPERTY SAVED: $348,500 in estimated property saved.
DAMAGE: $65,000 in estimated damage.
CAUSE: HFD Arson investigators ruled the cause as accidental (careless discard of smoking material).
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene within four minutes to find fire coming from the side of a vacant 1-story house. They made an attack on the fire, ventilated the roof, and pulled ceiling. A primary search was completed and cleared. The utilities were secured, and the fire was extinguished. HFD Arson investigators were requested to determine the cause and origin. 32 personnel were dispatched to this incident, including firefighters from Stations 15, 31, 34, 30 and 58.
