WHAT: House fire.
WHEN: January 19, 2025, at 1:31 a.m.
WHERE: 7700 block of Van Ness St. 77037.
INJURIES: No reported injuries.
PROPERTY SAVED: $270,000 in estimated property saved.
DAMAGE: $160,000 in estimated damage.
CAUSE: Under investigation (appears accidental).
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene to find heavy fire coming from a garage and extending into the house. They made an attack on the fire and requested several additional HFD units. A primary search of the home was completed, and everyone was safely outside. Crews rotated until the fire was fully controlled and extinguished. The American Red Cross was notified to assist the family and HFD Arson investigators were requested to determine the cause and origin. 50 personnel responded to this incident, including firefighters from Stations 15, 31, 34, 30, 58, 67, 74, Heavy Rescue 11 and Rehab 8.
