WHAT: House fire.
WHEN: May 16, 2024, at 6:57 p.m.
WHERE: 9300 block of Una St. 77022.

DAMAGE: $240,000 in estimated damage.
CAUSE: Act of nature (storm).
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters noticed a house on fire when making another emergency call and notified dispatch. A tree had fallen on the home and fire was coming from the side of the house. They reset the fire and protected the nearby houses as crews conducted a primary search. A defensive attack was initiated with the firefighters controlling the fire from the exterior of the home due to structural instability. Several units remained on scene to ensure the fire did not re-ignite. 51 personnel responded to this incident, including crews from Stations 67, 15, 4, 64, 9, 12, 30, 31, 34, 58, 74, 6, 84, 24 and 8.
