WHAT: House fire.
WHEN: June 2, 2024, at 2:18 p.m.
WHERE: 900 block of Greatwood Dr. 77013.
INJURIES: One civilian treated on scene for minor injuries.
PROPERTY SAVED: $160,000 in estimated property saved.
DAMAGE: $250,000 in estimated damage.
CAUSE: HFD Arson investigators ruled the cause as accidental (unspecified electrical malfunction).
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene to find heavy fire coming from the roof of a 1-story house. They controlled the utilities and made entry into the attic. The bulk of the fire was in the roof of the home. A primary search was completed with a report of a missing dog, who was later found safe. One resident was treated on scene for minor burns. The fire was extinguished and HFD Arson investigators were requested to determine the cause and origin. 39 personnel responded to this incident, including firefighters from Stations 41, 17, 23, 20, 45, 44, 53, 30, Rescue 42 and Rehab 17.
