INJURIES: No reported injuries.
PROPERTY SAVED: $100,000 in estimated property saved.
DAMAGE: $125,000 in estimated damage.
CAUSE: Failure of equipment or heat souce.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene within four minutes to find fire coming from the side of a 1-story home and made an offensive attack. Once inside, crews found smoke throughout the house and in the attic. A primary search was completed, and a small dog was found and brought out in good condition. Firefighters pulled the ceiling to gain access to the attic and extinguished the fire. The exterior air conditioner unit overheated and ignited, and the fire spread up the exterior wall of the house into the interior. Firefighters completed salvage and overhaul and contacted the American Red Cross to assist the family. Crews from Stations 53, 45, 20, 42, 30, 23 and Rescue 42 responded to this incident.
