WHAT: House fire.

WHERE: 500 block of Westmont Dr. 77015.
INJURIES: No reported injuries.
PROPERTY SAVED: $195,000 in estimated property saved.
DAMAGE: $45,000 in estimated damage.
CAUSE: Unintentional (heat source too close to combustible).
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene to find smoke coming from a house. They extinguished the fire which was contained to the living room. A head lamp had been used to keep newborn puppies warm and was the origin of the fire. The puppies did not survive. 38 personnel responded to this incident, including crews from Stations 39, 17, 44, 53 and 19.
