WHAT: House fire.
WHEN: June 17,2024, at 5:52 p.m.
WHERE: 8300 block of Bonner Dr. 77017.
INJURIES: No reported injuries.
PROPERTY SAVED: $80,000 in estimated property saved.
DAMAGE: $125,000 in estimated damage.
CAUSE: HFD Arson investigators ruled the cause as accidental.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene to find fire coming from the side of a home's garage and venting through the roof. They made an offensive attack and conducted a primary search. A commercial generator had been running in the enclosed garage, powering grow lights and ventilation systems throughout what appeared to be a "grow house". The fire was extinguished and HFD Arson investigators were requested to determine the cause and origin. The Houston Police Department also responded. 32 personnel responded to this incident, including crews from Stations 23, 20, 26, 29 and 24.
