WHAT: House Fire.
WHEN: August 16, 2022 at 3:09 p.m.
WHERE: 1900 block of Terminal St. 77011.
INJURIES: Two dogs rescued and revived.
PROPERTY SAVED: Not available.
DAMAGE: $105,000 in estimated damage.
CAUSE: Failure of equipment or heat source.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene within four minutes to find a 1-story home heavily involved with thick smoke with most of the fire coming from the roof. They made an attack and ventilated the house which appeared to have plywood over windows. A primary search was completed, and the nearby exposures were checked. Two unconscious dogs were found inside the home. Firefighters removed them and successfully revived them. Once the fire was out, it was determined that a faulty AC unit had caused the fire. Firefighters from Stations 23, 19, 20, 18, 27, 42 and Rescue 42 responded to this incident.
