WHAT: House fire.
WHEN: December 7, 2024, at 10:10 a.m.
WHERE: 8800 block of Cross Country Dr. 77346.
INJURIES: No reported injuries.
PROPERTY SAVED: $825,000 in estimated property saved.
DAMAGE: $75,000 in estimated damage.
CAUSE: HFD Arson investigators ruled the cause as accidental (electrical malfunction in or around a golf cart battery inside the garage).
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene to find heavy smoke coming from the garage of a 2-story house and made an offensive attack. A primary search was completed, and the fire was extinguished. Fans were used to remove the smoke and HFD Arson investigators were requested to determine the cause and origin. 35 personnel responded to this incident, including crews from Stations 15, 102, 64, 65, 105, 30 and the Atascocita and Huffman Fire Departments.
