WHAT: House fire.
WHEN: September 2, 2023, at 1:36 a.m.
WHERE: 200 block of Lena Dr. 77022.
INJURIES: Two firefighters injured and treated on scene, third firefighter injured and transported to the hospital.
PROPERTY SAVED: Not available.
DAMAGE: $250,000 in estimated damage.
CAUSE: Under investigation.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene within four minutes to find heavy fire coming from the side of a 1-story house and involving cars in the driveway under a carport. With a report of people trapped, they forced entry through a gate and made entry into the home to conduct a primary search. A deceased dog was found, however after several searches, no residents were found inside. Crews began an attack on the fire and ventilated the home. The fire was extinguished and HFD Arson investigators were requested to determine the cause and origin. Two firefighters were treated on scene for injuries and a third was transported to the hospital. 52 personnel were dispatched to this incident, including crews from Stations 58, 30, 15, 31, 34, 13, 62, 67, Heavy Rescue 11 and Rehab 8.
