WHAT: House fire.
WHEN: July 9, 2024, at 1:30 a.m.
WHERE: 400 block of E. Rogers St. 77022.
INJURIES: No reported injuries.
PROPERTY SAVED: $170,000 in estimated property saved.
DAMAGE: $80,000 in estimated damage.
CAUSE: Under investigation.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene to find heavy fire and smoke coming from the roof of a 2-story house. They made an offensive attack and conducted a primary search. Conditions worsened and crews pulled out of the house, switching to a defensive attack. The fire was controlled, and a second search was completed. The residents had left their home earlier that day due to the power outage from Hurricane Beryl. Firefighters fully extinguished the fire and requested HFD Arson investigators to determine the cause and origin. 49 personnel responded to this incident, including crews from Stations 30, 32, 15, 31, 34 and 67.
