WHAT: House fire.
WHEN: September 15, 2024, at 8:06 a.m.
WHERE: 3400 block of Delano St. 77004.
INJURIES: No reported injuries.
PROPERTY SAVED: $53,000 in estimated property / content saved.
DAMAGE: $50,000 in estimated property / content damage.
CAUSE: Under investigation.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene to find heavy smoke and fire coming from a 1-story house. They began an attack on the fire and ventilated the roof. After crews forced entry, one civilian was found. He was unaware of the fire and exited the home without incident or injury. The home had been sub-divided into two separate occupancies. The fire was controlled and extinguished, and HFD Arson investigators were requested to determine the cause and origin. CenterPoint was notified to secure the utilities. 52 personnel responded to this incident, including firefighters from Stations 7, 23, 8, 46, 16, 17, 18, 25, 18, 24, Rescue 42 and Rehab 8.
