WHAT: House fire.
WHEN: August 8, 2024, at 4:37 a.m.
WHERE: 5000 block of Dickens Rd. 77021.
INJURIES: No reported injuries.

DAMAGE: $170,000 in estimated damage.
CAUSE: Under investigation.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene to find a 1-story house fully involved in fire and began a defensive attack. The nearby homes were protected, and the utilities were secured. The crews controlled the fire and rotated until it was fully extinguished. A primary search was completed and HFD Arson investigators were requested to determine the cause and origin. There had been a fire at the same house the prior night. 32 personnel responded to this incident, including firefighters from Stations 23, 26, 46, 18, 25, 35, 40 and 24.
