WHAT: House fire.
WHEN: September 10, 2023, at 8:56 a.m.
WHERE: 5000 block of Yellowstone Blvd. 77021.
INJURIES: One civilian injured and transported to the hospital.
PROPERTY SAVED: $36,456 in estimated property saved.
DAMAGE: $100,000 in estimated damage.
CAUSE: Under investigation.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene within three minutes to find heavy fire coming from a 1-story house and made an offensive attack. HFD EMS crews treated and transported one individual who was in the front yard with minor smoke inhalation and burns. Firefighters ventilated the home and ensured there was no one else inside. The fire was extinguished and HFD Arson investigators were requested to determine the cause and origin. The American Red Cross was notified for the residents. CenterPoint secured the electricity to the house. 45 personnel were dispatched to this incident, including firefighters from Stations 35, 46, 23, 26, 25, 40, 24 and Rescue 42.
