WHAT: House fire.
WHEN: July 31, 2023, at 1:29 p.m.
WHERE: 7700 block of Battleoak Dr. 77040.
INJURIES: No reported injuries.
PROPERTY SAVED: Not available.
DAMAGE: $225,000 in estimated damage.
CAUSE: Under investigation (appears to be accidental at this time).
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene within five minutes to find fire coming from a house and made an offensive attack. A primary search was completed, and crews retreated to a defensive mode. Once the fire was controlled from the exterior, they completed extinguishment efforts inside and requested HFD Arson investigators to determine the cause and origin. 51 personnel were dispatched to this incident, including firefighters from Stations 13, 2, 4, 5, 31, 38, 50, 77, 96, 30 and Rehab 17.
