WHAT: House Fire
WHEN: April 9, 2022 at 2:30 a.m.
WHERE: 2200 block of Bringhurst, 77026
INJURIES: No reported injuries.
PROPERTY SAVED: Not available.
DAMAGE: $35,000 in estimated damage.
CAUSE: Under investigation.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene within three minutes to find a vacant small 1-story house fully involved on fire with another nearby home partially involved and a third structure threatened. Crews worked to protect the exposures and extinguish fire in the main structure and exposure. A natural gas leak from under the ground fed the fire between the structures and CenterPoint was requested to secure the line. The fire was controlled within 20 minutes and HFD Arson investigators were requested to determine the cause and origin. Firefighters from stations 23, 8, 19, 9, 12, 17 and 18 responded to this incident.
