DAMAGE: $90 thousand in estimated damage.
CAUSE: Failure of equipment or heat source.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene within three minutes to find heavy smoke coming from the eaves and vents of a home’s roof. They made an offensive attack and conducted a primary search. Crews extinguished a fire in the attic which was caused by old electrical wiring. The American Red Cross was notified to assist the owner and firefighters conducted salvage and overhaul. Crews from Stations 18, 8, 20, 25, 40 and 24 responded to this incident.
