WHAT: House Fire
WHEN: May 31, 2022 at 9:52 p.m.
WHERE: 4300 block of Rusk, 77023
INJURIES: One firefighter transported to the hospital, One civilian treated on scene.
PROPERTY SAVED: Not available.
DAMAGE: Two houses were heavily damaged by fire with minor damage to a third structure.
CAUSE: Under investigation.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene within four minutes to find a 2-story home fully engulfed in flames. A defensive attack was made as crews protected the nearby homes. A nearby home under construction, also caught fire and additional units were requested to control it. Once the fire was controlled firefighters ensured all hotspots were extinguished. HFD Arson investigators were requested to determine the cause and origin. Two houses were heavily damaged by fire with minor damage to a third structure. One firefighter was transported to the hospital for dehydration/heat exhaustion and a civilian was treated on scene for smoke inhalation. Crews from Stations 8, 25, 18, 20, 17 and 30 responded to this incident.
