WHAT: House fire.
WHEN: February 5, 2024, at 4:46 p.m.
WHERE: 3700 block of Chaffin St. 77087.
INJURIES: No reported injuries.
PROPERTY SAVED: Not available.
DAMAGE: $100,000 in estimated damage.
CAUSE: Under investigation, appears to be accidental.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene within five minutes to find fire coming from a 2-story house. They reset the fire and entered the home to conduct a primary search. The crews rotated until the fire was extinguished and HFD Arson investigators were requested to determine the cause and origin. 37 personnel responded to this incident, including firefighters from Stations 46, 23, 26, 35, 36, 40, 29, 24, 8 and Rehab 17.
