WHAT: House fire.
WHEN: February 9, 2025, at 10:15 a.m.
WHERE: 6500 block of Bazel Brook Dr. 77489.
INJURIES: No reported injuries.
PROPERTY SAVED: $250,000 in estimated property saved.
DAMAGE: $100,000 in estimated damage.
CAUSE: HFD Arson investigators ruled the cause as accidental (electrical).
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene to find smoke coming from a 1-story house and made an offensive attack. They ventilated the roof and conducted a primary search. Four dogs were found and safely removed from the home. Crews controlled and extinguished a fire in the kitchen which had spread to the attic space. CenterPoint was notified to control the utilities and HFD Arson investigators were requested to determine the cause and origin. 36 personnel responded to this incident, including firefighters from Stations 2, 59, 68, 80, 82 and 24.
