WHAT: House fire.
WHEN: May 11, 2023 at 3:17 p.m.
WHERE: 12400 block of Shadowmist Dr. 77082.
INJURIES: No reported injuries.
PROPERTY SAVED: $420,000 in estimated property saved.
DAMAGE: $140,000 in estimated damage.
CAUSE: Unintentional (heat source too close to combustibles).
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene within five minutes to find a fully involved detached garage of a 2-story house. Everyone was safely out of the home and crews made an offensive attack. They checked for extension into the house and extinguished the fire. The garage and a vehicle were destroyed by the fire which was determined to be caused by a grill used earlier. Firefighters from Stations 83, 2, 78, 69, 75, 76, 86, 57 and 46 responded to this incident.
