WHAT: House fire.
WHEN: October 16, 2023, at 5:42 a.m.
WHERE: 10900 block of White Thorn St. 77016.
INJURIES: No reported injuries.
PROPERTY SAVED: $77,500 in estimated property saved.
DAMAGE: $50,000 in estimated damage.
CAUSE: HFD Arson investigators ruled the cause as accidental (unspecified electrical).
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene within five minutes to find smoke coming from a 1-story house and made an attack on a fire in the kitchen. The roof was ventilated, and a primary search was completed with no one found. The home was being remodeled. The fire was extinguished and HFD Arson investigators were requested to determine the cause and origin. 32 personnel were dispatched to this incident, including crews from Stations 15, 34, 45, 32, 43, 56 and 30.
