WHAT: House fire.
WHEN: July 9, 2023, at 1:03 a.m.
WHERE: 7300 block of Lakewood Dr. 77016.
INJURIES: One civilian with minor injuries.
PROPERTY SAVED: $102,500 in estimated property saved.
DAMAGE: $85,000 in estimated damage.
CAUSE: Under investigation.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene within five minutes to find smoke and fire coming from a 1-story house with the residents in the front yard. The crews made an attack on the fire and ventilated the roof. A primary search was conducted to insure everyone was out of the home. Once the fire was extinguished, HFD Arson investigators were requested to determine the cause and origin. CenterPoint was also requested to secure the power. One civilian suffered minor injuries and was treated by HFD EMS. 34 personnel responded to this incident, including firefighters from Stations 56, 15, 34, 45, 32, 43 and 30.
