WHAT: House fire.
WHEN: May 29, 2024, at 12:45 p.m.
WHERE: 14100 block of Buffalo Speedway, 77045.
INJURIES: No reported injuries.
PROPERTY SAVED: $100,000 in estimated property saved.
DAMAGE: $175,000 in estimated damage.
CAUSE: Under investigation.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene to find smoke and fire coming from the roof of a 1-story house and made an offensive attack. A primary search was completed, and the utilities were controlled. The crews extinguished the fire with damage to the attic and hallway. CenterPoint was attempting to restore power to a transformer near the home, however the exact cause was not apparent. HFD Arson investigators were requested to determine the cause and origin of the fire. 37 personnel responded to this incident, including firefighters from Stations 35, 59, 47, 48, 55, 24 and 28.
