WHAT: House fire.
WHEN: January 22, 2024, at 12:35 p.m.
WHERE: 3200 block of Rockrill Dr. 77045.
INJURIES: No reported injuries.
PROPERTY SAVED: Not available.
DAMAGE: $75,000 in estimated damage.
CAUSE: HFD Arson investigators ruled the cause as accidental (fire ignited secondary to wood being burned in the fireplace).
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene within seven minutes to find fire and smoke coming from the roof of a 2-story house and made an offensive attack. The residents had safely escaped. Crews determined that the fire was in the walls near the chimney from the first floor to the attic. They opened the walls and extinguished the fire. HFD Arson investigators were requested to determine the cause and origin of the fire. 42 personnel responded to this incident, including firefighters from Stations 47, 82, 2, 21, 46, 59, 35, 37, 55, 33 and 24.
