WHAT: House fire.
WHEN: January 23, 2024, at 5:29 p.m.
WHERE: 11600 block of Roos Rd. 77072.
INJURIES: No reported injuries.
PROPERTY SAVED: $128,000 in estimated property saved.
DAMAGE: $175,000 in estimated damage.
CAUSE: HFD Arson investigators ruled the cause as accidental (overheated extension cord).
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene within four minutes to find fire coming from a 1-story house and made an attack. They ventilated the home and conducted a primary search, rescuing three dogs. Once the fire was extinguished, HFD Arson investigators were requested to determine the cause and origin. 34 personnel responded to this incident, including crews from Stations 76, 2, 68, 83, 73, 69, 57 and Rescue 10.
