WHAT: House fire.
WHEN: October 31, 2023, at 4:41 p.m.
WHERE: 6200 block of Meadway Dr. 77072.
INJURIES: No reported injuries.
PROPERTY SAVED: Not available.
DAMAGE: $227,000 in estimated damage.
CAUSE: Unintentional.
ADDITIONAL DETAILS: Firefighters arrived on scene within five minutes to find heavy smoke coming from a 1-story house. They forced entry through burglar bars and made an attack on the fire. A primary search was completed with no one found. Multiple propane bottles were on fire on the exterior of the home as well. Firefighters extinguished the fire and determined that food was left cooking on an outside burner and caught the porch and house on fire. 38 personnel were dispatched to this incident, including crews from Stations 76, 2, 78, 83, 10, 51, 86 and 57.
