WHEN: August 31, 2023, at 11:57 a.m.
WHERE: 11300 block of Bayou Place Dr. 77099.
INJURIES: No reported injuries.
PROPERTY SAVED: $160,000 in estimated property saved.
DAMAGE: $150,000 estimated damage.
CAUSE: Under investigation (intentional).
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene to find heavy smoke coming from a 1-story house and made an offensive attack. The fire was quickly controlled, and a primary search was completed. A deceased cat was found inside the home. An individual was taken into custody on scene by the Houston Police Department. HFD Arson investigators were requested to determine the cause and origin of the fire. 35 personnel were dispatched to this incident, including crews from Stations 80, 2, 68, 83, 10, 73, 76 and 82.
