WHAT: House fire.
WHEN: May 13, 2023 at 11:08 p.m.
WHERE: 12800 block of Huntington Field Dr. 77099.
INJURIES: Several pets were overcome by smoke.
PROPERTY SAVED: $180,000 in estimated property saved.
DAMAGE: $70,000 in estimated damage.
CAUSE: HFD Arson investigators ruled the cause as accidental due to an unattended lit candle.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene to find smoke coming from a 2-story house and forced entry through the front door. The fire was quickly located and extinguished. Several pets were overcome by smoke prior to HFDs arrival. There was extension smoke damage through the home. The American Red Cross was notified to assist the residents. HFD Arson investigators were requested to determine the cause of the fire. 35 HFD personnel responded to this incident from Stations 76, 2, 68, 83, 10, 73, 75 and 57.
