WHAT: House Fire

CAUSE: Failure of equipment or heat source.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene within three minutes to find smoke and fire coming from a 1-story home. They made an offensive attack on the fire on the patio which had extended into the attic. They forced entry and encountered heavy fire conditions in the attic. A primary search was completed, and the roof was ventilated. The fire was extinguished, and the utilities were secured. The fire was started by an electrical smoker that had been plugged into an outlet attached to the home, spreading inside the house and to the attic. Crews ensured all hotspots were extinguished and removed the debris from the residence. Firefighters from Stations 4, 67, 31, 50, 62 and 30 responded to this incident.
