WHAT: House Fire
WHEN: December 3, 2021 at 12:05 p.m.
WHERE: 1400 block of Diplomat Way, 77088
INJURIES: No reported injuries.
PROPERTY SAVED: $60.6 thousand in estimated property saved.
DAMAGE: $105 thousand in estimated damage.
CAUSE: Under Investigation.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene within six minutes to find heavy smoke coming from a 1-story house. They forced entry through a front driveway gate and then the front door. The crews found a fire inside which had spread to the attic. A primary search was completed with no one found. They attempted roof top ventilation; however, the roof was too weak from the fire and a firefighter fell through the shingles. Once the fire was extinguished, the utilities companies were requested to secure the power and gas. HFD Arson investigators were requested to determine the cause and origin. Crews from Stations 15, 4, 13, 31, 58, 67, 30 and Rescue 42 responded to this incident.
