HOME “FUR” THE HOLIDAYS AT BARC!

HOUSTON – BARC, the City of Houston’s Animal Shelter and Adoption Center, is offering 50% off all regular priced adoption fees for all cats and dogs starting November 16, 2019 until December 31, 2019.

“We hope Houstonians will open their hearts and homes to a shelter pet this holiday season,” said Jennifer Barrera Wandrey, Outreach Manager at BARC. “If you are not able to adopt, we encourage the community to consider fostering a pet during the holidays. Don’t miss this opportunity to bring your “furrever” friend home for the holidays.”

BARC’s pet adoption package includes spay/neuter surgery, vaccinations, a one-year city pet license, and a pre-registered microchip with a lifetime registration — worth hundreds of dollars if purchased independently.

Pets currently available for adoption can be found at www.houstontx.gov/barc. BARC encourages adopters to stop by and meet each animal in person. BARC’s shelter, located at 3300 Carr Street, Houston, TX 77026, is open for adoptions seven days a week from noon to 5:00 p.m.

The simplest, but most powerful thing Houstonians can do to help BARC and pets throughout the community is to foster, volunteer, donate and adopt. BARC encourages people who are unable to permanently adopt a pet but would like to help animals in need to consider becoming a volunteer or a foster pet parent at BARC. By getting animals into foster homes, BARC has more space for additional animals as they enter the shelter.
