CAUSE: Unintentional - mechanical failure or malfunction.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene within two minutes to find a report of smoke on the 16th floor of an apartment high-rise. Once on the 16th floor, crews found an electrical panel with battery backup smoking and very hot. They used a dry chemical extinguisher to extinguish any fire and disconnected the batteries. The smoke was cleared, and the building was returned to the security personnel. Firefighters from Stations 8, 6, 19, 20, 7 and 24 responded to this incident.
