WHAT: Houston Fire Chief Samuel Peña; representatives of the HFD Wildland Group; Houston Health Department Bureau Chief Nguyen Ly and Laboratory Manager Roger Sealy; and Bobby Giles, representative with the contractor Precision Land will address the ongoing fire at Hammerly and Hollister.

The fire was first reported on October 27, and involved a small area of large mulch, tree debris, logs and live trees. Firefighters rotated on scene using multiple handlines and blitz nozzles to control the fire. Once the fire was controlled, contractors and a mitigation company responded on site to complete mitigation. HFD has continued to monitor this incident and maintained a resource to liaison with the contractors.
