Event Details, Mayor Turner’s Schedule, and Promo Video for Tonight’s Citywide Celebration for High School Seniors

Mayor Turner and some of our favorite celebrities congratulate the 2020 H.S. Seniors!

Mayor Sylvester Turner will join area high school seniors this evening to
celebrate their achievements at a series of special outdoor events created by their respective school districts.

Five participating districts: Aldine, Alief, HISD, Spring Branch, and Spring have announced locations and plans for their individual celebrations for this evening, Friday, June 5, at 6:30 p.m.  and the mayor will make three stops during the celebrations.

Mayor Turner’s Schedule for this evening

5:45 p.m. – Mayor Turner will stop by the Spring ISD Seniors Graduation, 2308 Cypresswood Drive – Planet Ford Stadium.
6:20 p.m. – Mayor Turner will stop by the Aldine ISD Seniors Graduation, 1865 Aldine Bender, Thorne Stadium.
6:55 p.m. – Mayor Turner stop by the HISD Wheatley High School Seniors Graduation, 4801 Providence.

A highlight of each live event will include a star-studded video tribute featuring encouraging
personal messages from national and local celebrities including: Houston Rockets James
Harden, Rappers Trae tha Truth and 50 Cent, Actress Chandra Wilson, Houston Texan JJ

Mayor Sylvester Turner got the ball rolling on this one-of-a-kind event to honor and
recognize area high school seniors who have missed many traditional memories this year because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

“With the support of district superintendents, their teams, and some pretty big-named celebrities, I know this will be a memorable event that the senior class of 2020 can experience together, and thanks to our media partners, the entire Houston
community can share virtually as well.” Mayor Turner said.

All seniors attending live events will be required to wear face coverings and adhere to social distancing guidelines as outlined by their respective school districts. Parents, family members,friends and the general public are invited to participate virtually through local media outlets.
