INJURIES: No reported injuries.

DAMAGE: $70,000 in estimated damage.
CAUSE: Unintentional (short circuit arc from mechanical damage).
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene within three minutes to find smoke and fire coming from a 1-story duplex. They made an offensive attack and ventilated the roof. The utilities were controlled, and a primary search was completed. The fire was extinguished, and the American Red Cross was requested for the residents. 33 personnel responded to this incident, including crews from Stations 23, 21, 46, 25, 35, 55, 24 and Rehab 17.
