DAMAGE: $5,000 in estimated damage.
CAUSE: Unintentional (Operational Deficiency, Other).
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene within four minutes to find light smoke coming from a 1-story commercial building. A small fire was found in a void space between ceiling joists in back room. A small fire was also found on the roof covering. Crews extinguished the fire and determined that a worker had been using torch to melt tar onto the roof to repair a leak which appeared to have started the fire. Firefighters from Stations 34, 45, 39, 43, 56 and 30 responded to this incident.
