WHAT: Commercial building fire.
WHEN: August 24, 2024, at 3:45 a.m.
WHERE: 2608 Jensen Dr. 77026.
INJURIES: Two firefighters injured and transported to the hospital.
PROPERTY SAVED: $170,000 in estimated property saved.
DAMAGE: $70,000 in estimated damage.
CAUSE: Under investigation.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene to find fire coming from a 1-story commercial building and made an offensive attack. The roof was ventilated, and a primary search was completed. A power line feeding to the building was arching and CenterPoint was notified to secure the power. During the incident, a live wire fell out of the drop-down ceiling and energized the floor area. One firefighter encountered the wire and was transported to the hospital. A second firefighter fell into energized water and was transported to the hospital as well. Crews extinguished the fire and requested HFD Arson investigators to determine the cause and origin. 37 personnel responded to this incident, including firefighters from Stations 15, 8, 19, 9, 12, 27, 39 and 6.
